Summer Science
What: Science
Class for 4-5 year olds.
(Mature 3-1/2 year olds with previous drop-off experience
will also be considered).
Where: Valley Preschool
When: 9:00-11:00
am
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
June 22-24 & June 29-July 1
Why: Children love to explore
and ask questions. Our class is designed to introduce children to the world
of science through a variety of concepts such as sound, air, water and
simple chemical reactions. Each class will have a daily experiment that
explores these concepts and the week will conclude with one large experiment
– a volcano or rocket perhaps? The goal of the class is to make science fun
while encouraging children to make predictions and to suggest explanations
for what they observe.
Who: Leslie
Forster received her BS degree in Early Childhood/Special Education from the
University of Iowa. She has over 20 years of experience working with young
children in many different settings. She loves it when a child asks, "why?"
because it makes her think hard about the world we live in. Children are
natural scientists; they just need some help putting their ideas into
words. She is the proud mother of 17-year-old twins, Katie and Tom, who are
graduates of Valley Preschool and are now making plans for college.
